COOLING
ALL-ENCOMPASSING COOL
Advanced cooling brings out the best of a powerful Ryzen CPU and Radeon GPU. Liquid metal thermal compound coats both processors, improving heat transfer and lowering temperatures. A large vapor chamber significantly increases cooling area for rapid and efficient heat dissipation through 4 fan outlets, allowing for up to 25W higher thermal headroom in Turbo mode. Surface temperatures are monitored by a built-in IR sensor that calibrates cooling as needed. These and other improvements allow ROG Boost to overclock the GPU in Turbo mode, and they open up extra thermal headroom to push even more power through the platform.

Liquid metal
Liquid metal compound from Thermal Grizzly reduces temperatures by up to 14° C and improves thermal transfer compared to standard thermal paste. Painting liquid metal onto processors is delicate work, so ROG commissioned custom equipment to automate the process with mechanical precision, designed a patented internal fence to contain the compound, and added a special step to protect surface-mounted components on the processor package.

Vapor chamber
Heat dissipation is faster and more efficient with our vapor chamber design, which improves cooling performance and lowers surface temperatures. Compared to conventional heat pipes that only transfer heat along their axis, vapor chamber designs spread heat across their entire surface, creating a wider area for heat dissipation to rapidly and efficiently lower temperatures in small spaces. Our design also uses a rectangular thermal plate to draw heat away from not only the CPU and GPU, but also the power regulation circuitry. Reducing the temperature of these power components helps improve long-term stability and reliability.

IR sensor
The Strix G15 Advantage Edition’s advanced cooling doesn’t just focus on the hardware inside. A special IR sensor monitors the temperature of the keyboard, so power and cooling can automatically adjust to keep your fingers cool and comfortable during marathon gaming sessions. Our CoolZone design places small vents around the WASD keys, allowing the fans to draw cooler air into the chassis from above. This helps keep surface temperatures under 40° during extended gaming sessions—up to 10° C lower than in competing laptops.

Arc Flow fans
New Arc Flow fans are designed to maximize airflow and keep noise levels low. Each one features 84 blades that vary in thickness from base to tip to maximize airflow, and the blades are capped by a special aerodynamic wave pattern that minimizes turbulence and noise. The fans are crafted from a liquid-crystal-polymer that’s strong enough to maintain its shape while spinning at high RPMs, even with blades slimming down to just 0.1mm. Despite making less noise than the previous generation, they help increase airflow by up to 17% for the CPU and 20% for the GPU.
